For a long time (years) I've been hosting my websites at home. But after I've swapped my day job for a position as my own boss (read: freelance consulting) my needs for at server for development and testing has been more obvious. Thus I'm moving this site and other public sites to a hosting provider (because it's cheaper than buying more iron and more public ip's. And it gives me more uptime).
This site is now hosted at Gigahost, who has great subscription plan: One price, unlimited domains for web and mail, and IMAP access for mail.
I also moved a Gallery2 powered site, following this guide.
For backup and restore of the DB, I simply used export/import in phpmyadmin.
